A little work

12-30-11

Just after midnight, the department was dispatched for a dwelling fire at 614 Green Street. Bridgeport PD arrived to find fire in the rear of the dwelling. Bridgeport "5" confirmed this upon his arrival and requested the upgrade, bringing Pipeline 49 (swedesburg), Ladder 27 (fairmount) and Engine 47-1 with the Fast Team (king of prussia). Quint 31 laid a supply line, while the Engine's crew picked up the hydrant and put an attack line in service. The fire was quickly extinguished and the assignment scaled back; remaining crews on scene performed ventilation and overhaul.

Midday assist in the Boro

12-22-11

Engine 32 was dispatched just after noon today to assist the Norristown Fire Dept. at an underground electrical fire on the zero hundred block of East Main Street. Upon arrival, the Engine secured a water supply at East Main and Dekalb Streets while it's crew, along with crews from Stations 31 (bridgeport #1) and 47 (king of prussia), checked CO levels in the basements of numerous buildings on the 100 block of East Main Street. The Engine was released and cleared after being on scene for over two hours. 

Assist to 27

12-5-11

Engine 32 was dispatched at 9:30 this morning to assist Station 27 (norristown) on a building fire at 2 DeKalb Street (camber sportswear), located just on the other side of the DeKalb Street Bridge. The Engine laid 1200' of supply line across the bridge from the Bridgeport side and fed the building's standpipe while it's crew assisted with interior operations. The Engine was on scene for nearly three hours before becoming available.

Stand by and Runs

11-14-11

Just after 8:00am this morning, Engine 32 relocated to Station 27-D (fairmount) for a stand by while the Norristown Fire Dept. operated at a dwelling fire on Freedly Street. The Engine ran two calls while in town, a vehicle fire and brush fire, before being released and returning an hour and a half later.

State Champ

9-25-11

Engine 32-1 is a state champion again, winning first place in the highly competitive engine: 1986-1995 category at the 132nd PA State Firemen's Convention held yesterday in Lake Harmony. Utility 32 also took home a second place trophy for the second year in a row. Congratulations are also in order for Bridgeport #1, all three Upper Merion stations, the Fairmount, Washies and Plymouth, as well as all of the other Montgomery County companies who brought home trophies on Saturday.

Fire showing in 49 local

9-3-11 

At 3:53am on Saturday, Engine 32 was dispatched on an automatic mutual aid call with Station 49 and Ladder 48 to 803 Colbert Street in the Swedesburg section of Upper Merion Township. The Engine arrived first on scene with heavy smoke and fire showing from the rear of the dwelling. Crews went into service with attack lines and performed ventilation operations with all searches coming up negative. Chief 49 had command. The Engine operated on scene until around 6:30am.

Close call

8-30-11

Just after 3:30pm, Stations 31 and 32, along with Ladder 27 and Pipeline 49, were dispatched for a reported dwelling fire on the 600 block of Bush Street. A resident managed to extinguish the flames, containing it to a bedroom, but received burns to the extremities in the process; he was later transported by PennSTAR to Temple University Hospital. Crews performed overhaul and took care of hotspots.

Stand by at 27-B

8-24-11

Engine 32, along with Squirt 43 (plymouth), relocated to Station 27-B (montgomery) just after 1:00pm today to provide Norristown with coverage while their units assisted at a vehicle rescue on Dekalb Pike in East Norriton. The Engine stood by for an hour and a half before being released.

KoP assist

5-25-11

Just before 2:00pm today, Engine 32 was dispatched to assist Station 47 (king of prussia) at a dwelling fire on Walker Lane in the Brandywine Village section of Upper Merion. The Engine assisted on scene for just over a half an hour.

Stand by in Conshy

5-14-11

Engine 32 was dispatched just after 10:00pm this evening for a stand by assignment at Station 35 (conshohocken #2) while they operated at a dwelling fire on the 500 block of Spring Mill Ave. The engine remained in Conshohocken for nearly two and a half hours before returning to Bridgeport.

Elevator rescue

5-5-11

Units from the Bridgeport Fire Department responded to the Ross Road Business Center just ater 12:00pm today for a elevator rescue. An elevator car, with one occupant, became stuck between the first and second floors. the occupant was removed safely through the trap door.

1st due worker

4-13-11

Just after 4:00pm, Stations 31 and 32, along with Pipeline 49 and Ladder 27, were dispatched for a building fire at 300 Prospect Ave. Engineer 32 arrived on scene, reporting heavy smoke showing and a working kitchen fire. Engine 32 arrived first on scene and went into service, making a quick knock on the fire while other companies started opening up, conducting primary and secondary searches, advancing backup lines and checking the exposures. Extensive overhaul was performed on the first and second floors. Units operated on scene for nearly two hours.

Stand by at 27-D

4-2-11

Engine 32 was back in Norristown this morning for a stand by assignment at Station 27-D (fairmount) while the Norristown Fire Dept. operated at a dwelling fire on Violet Street. The Engine responded just before 5:00am and remained in Norristown for about three and a half hours. No calls were ran during the cover.

Just before 9:30 this evening, Engine 32 was dispatched for a stand by assignment at Station 27-D (fairmount). The Engine covered for an hour and half before being released.

Morning assist

2-26-11

Around 7:00am this morning, Engine 32, along with Quint 31, was dispatched to assist the Norristown Fire Dept. at a dwelling fire on the 600 block of Cherry Street. The Engine's crew went to work in the exposure building, searching for fire extension and performing extensive overhaul on the second floor. The Engine was in service for about two and a half hours before being released.

Midday assist to KoP

2-12-11

Just before 1:30 pm, Engine 32 was dipsatched to assist Station 47 (king of prussia) at a building fire on North Warner Rd. The engine assisted on scene for nearly an hour before being released.

Stand by at 27-D

2-4-11

Just before 1:oopm today, Engine 32 was dispatched to cover Station 27-D (fairmount) while the Norristown Fire Dept. operated at a dwelling fire on the 100 block of Ann Street. One call was ran while covering the Fairmount, a reported dwelling fire on the 900 block of West Main Street which turned out to be a false alarm. After clearing, the Engine returned to cover Fairmount's station until being released just before 3:00pm.

Assist to KoP

1-29-11

Engine 32 was back in King of Prussia on Saturday evening, assisting Station 47 at a dwelling fire on the 600 block of West Valley Forge Road. The company, dispatched just after 7:00pm, assisted on scene for about two hours before being released.

A long one in Norristown

1-18-11

About an hour after returning from the assist in King of Prussia, Good Will was dispatched for a stand by assignment at Station 27-D while the Norristown Fire Dept. operated at the scene of an underground electrical fire with CO explosions on the 100 block of West Main Street. The Engine was called to assist at the scene later that evening before being released around 8:40pm, just about six hours after the initial dispatch for the stand by. The engine also ran two calls while on stand by, an elevator rescue at the Norristown Borough Hall and a reported dwelling fire on the 1400 block of Powell Street.

Assist to KoP

At 12:30pm on Tuesday, Good Will was dispatched to assist Station 47 (king of prussia) with an engine at the scene of a dwelling fire on the 500 block of General Muhlenberg Road on in King of Prussia. Engine 32 responded and assisted at the scene before being released an hour later.

Passing of life members

1-2-11 

It is with deep regret that the Good Will Fire Company announce the passing of two life members.

John "Jack" Baker passed away last evening, Saturday, January 1, 2011. Jack was serving as Fire Police Captain at the time of his passing. Jack had also held several other positions over the years with Good Will. More details will follow as they become available.

Bernie Finnin passed on Wednesday, December 29, 2010. Bernie ran with the former Good Will Ambulance and was a former Asst. Chief at Swedesburg Fire Co. Bernie's viewing will be Tuesday evening, with his funeral mass and burial to follow on Wednesday morning.
