100th anniversary research yields discovery

2-20-12

While members were conducting research last week for the company's 100th anniversary, an extraordinary discovery was made amongst the numerous minute books and ledgers from the past 97 years, a duplicate contract for the first piece of apparatus purchased by the company, a Waterous Engine purchased in 1915.

"click here to view a copy of the contract"

The following year, the company then purchased its first auto driven apparatus from Waterous, which can be seen below. this find has put to rest some recent debate on the exact year and model of the "Grey Goose".

The minute book that covered the first six years of the company was also found to be in excellent condition. With only three years to go until our centennial celebration, these finds have set us on the right path in honoring not only the company's rich history, but those who have came before us as well. The support of our members, both current and past, will be crucial to seeing this through. We ask those who may have physical pieces from the past or knowledge of the company's history to please share them with the company, specifically the 100th anniversary committee. A lot of ideas are currently in the works and any bit of information would help.
